Beside I think we can agree it's annoying as hell when someone rags on you for liking a non-canon pairing or go on and on about how said pairing would never happen.
Don't get me wrong, I like some canon pairs, but I enjoy a ton of pairings that I know will never happen, and like the stamp said isn't that one of the points of fanfiction.
Bsides in my oppinion, fandom would be boring if we only stuck to what is canon, but that's just me.
If you only like canon pairs, that's fine. Just don't intrude on the fun of those who like to explore alternatives and please don't call people retards for liking non-canon pairs, that is just rude and uncalled for.
And this is why I love fanfiction/fanart ^^
I like coming up with different pairings that some people might find 'wierd' but hey: I like them. It gets boring liking canon pairings after awhile...so I like to switch them up and experiment. I don't mind people who love only canon pairs, I just hate the canon lovers that shout or flame you for liking fanon more then canon -__- It'd be a boring, robotic world if we all liked the same things.
Pairings are just what a person likes to think about...
I also hate it when people hate me for not liking a REALLLY popular pairing. (Ex: USUK)
Don't get me wrong. I'm fine with USUK, but in my opinion, I believe England should be with France.
Some crazed USUK fangirl JUST has to trash me.
And yes, you're right. If people just stuck with canon the whole entire time, then that would defeat the whole purpose of fandom.
But I have to agree with you. There are points where I draw the line, but if the pairing makes sense, I've no problems with it.
But like I said fan works are made just fun, it's not like people are gonna to get them officially published or anything like that.
